Thank You Councillor Grant Walker for Over 30 Years of Service
GBA would like to express our appreciation for the work of longtime Township of the Archipelago councillor Grant Walker, who recently stepped down after selling his property in the municipality.
Councillor Walker was officially sworn in as Councillor to Ward 6 on January 19, 1991. During his tenure he was actively involved in over 20 different committees, serving as Chair of Finance, Public Works, Environment and Communications. Most recently he served as liaison to the OPP and was the council rep for West Parry Sound District Museum.
Councillor Walker’s political influence stretches back to before the Township of the Archipelago was formed. He was one of the volunteers who lobbied the province to create the Township.
