Partnership Aims to Bolster Great Lakes Coastal Resiliency
A new partnership between the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Cities Initiative will receive $500,000 in Great Lakes Restoration Initiative funding. This funding aims to help coastal municipalities address shoreline resiliency issues due to fluctuating lake levels, shoreline erosion, coastal storms and climate change.
NOAA training and workshops will help municipal leaders and natural resource managers identify and prioritize coastal restoration projects, develop sustainable solutions, and create engineering and design plans for municipal-scale projects.
