June 8th Water Levels
The Great Lakes basin experienced lower than average temperatures last week after the heatwave that occurred the previous weekend. Lake Superior and Lake Ontario saw above average precipitation last week, while Lakes Michigan-Huron and Erie had less than average precipitation.
At the start of June, all of the Great Lakes are above their long-term average levels. Lakes Michigan-Huron, St. Clair, and Erie are 1 to 6 inches above last year’s levels. Over the next 30 days, Lake Michigan-Huron is projected to rise 1 inch.
Lake Superior’s outflow into the St. Marys River and Lake Michigan-Huron’s outflow into the St. Clair River are predicted to be above average in June.
