Opposition Parties Pledge to Restore Conservation Authority Powers
Ontario’s opposition parties are pledging to restore the powers of Conservation Authorities over development decisions by revoking permits granted using the new development approval routes created by the Ford government.
Conservation Authorities are vital in land use planning and serve to protect water quality and environmentally sensitive areas, and prevent flooding and other environmental hazards. GBA joined a large group of NGOs to help preserve the functions of Ontario’s Conservation Authorities. Read more about GBA’s actions here.
