GBA Continues to Push for the Release of the Henvey Inlet Fire Investigation Report
In the summer of 2018, the Parry Sound 33 wildfire on the Henvey Inlet devastated over 11,000 hectares of ecologically important Georgian Bay coastal habitat. The Ministry of Northern Development, Mines, Natural Resources and Forestry’s (NDMNRF) has not yet released the fire investigation report despite many requests to have the report made public.
GBA, Dave Seglins of CBC and Jean Burke, who represents local victims, continue to work together to get this report released. The adjudicator ruling last November strongly urged the government to release the report, but they are still refusing to do so. This letter, to help the adjudicator compel release, is probably our last kick at the can.
